5 Favorite Beso Del Sol Blog Posts

Over the years, we strive to create weekly blog posts that are engaging and informative to past, present and future guests of Beso Del Sol Resort. Hopefully we succeed.

Sometimes, we exceed even our own expectations and hit it out of the park with a blog post that is viewed, liked, shared and commented on far more than others.

We hope you enjoy revisiting these favorite topics (or reading them for the first time).

Honeymoon Island Gets a New Beach

Fans of Honeymoon Island absolutely love this place, and it showed when we reported on the new beach.

Even beaches need a beauty makeover now and then, and Honeymoon Island State Park is nearly finished with a beach re-nourishment project that has been 13-years-in-the-making. Get some new sand between your toes next time you visit Beso Del Sol Resort. A re-engineered beach space and new sand will help keep sand on the island and reduce storm damage to the beach.

Manatee Sightings in Spring Bayou

manatees
This is a manatee.

Florida is practically a destination for those who desperately want to spot the elusive manatee. Looks like the sightings at the Spring Bayou were no exception.

The winter home for many manatees is just down the road a piece from Beso Del Sol—in Tarpon Springs at the Spring Bayou. Located in beautiful Craig Park, the natural spring-fed bayou is the place these gentle giants come to find warmth in the winter. From Beso Del Sol Resort, head north on I-19 to Tarpon Springs, home of the sponge docks, for a chance to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

You can find more about manatees here.

Florida Welcomes 3 New Craft Breweries to Downtown Dunedin

Dunedin Brewery was the first craft brewery in Dunedin, paving the way for others.

New breweries, established breweries and guests were all pretty excited to see the number of breweries in Dunedin alone skyrocket to seven. It’s becoming quite the beer Mecca.

According to an article in the Tampa Bay Times, the breweries don’t view each other as competition, but rather work collaboratively to help each other succeed. In fact, their goal is to make Dunedin the brewing district of Florida.

The quaint foot-traffic friendly Dunedin Main Street

Of course it is – mom & pop shops, art galleries, restaurants and more make it truly one-of-a-kind. You won’t find big box stores in Dunedin, but you will find a little piece of paradise.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident of Florida or planning your first visit, these lovely small towns should be on the top of your list of things to see. Each one has its own rich history, unique charm, and lots of natural beauty. Pick any one (or several) of these and make your travel plans today. – OnlyInYourState.com

Second Fridays are More Fun in Dunedin with the 2nd Friday Wine/Art Walk

Although the Wine/Art Walk is now just part of every 2nd Friday, this event is going strong and still a great way to get to know Dunedin. Visit the 2nd Friday website.

If you’re staying at Beso Del Sol Resort on the 2nd Friday of the month, stroll through Dunedin and enjoy discounts and give-a-ways from merchants; listen to live music in the park, participate in wine tastings, art exhibits & more.

We hope these give you some ideas for your next visit to Beso Del Sol Resort (or some happy memories from past visits).
