Dunedin’s Orange Festival is Sweet

Red, White and Blue may be this weekend’s colors, but Dunedin considers another color to be almost as patriotic: Orange. If you’re visiting Beso Del Sol Resort July 11, don’t miss the 6th Annual Orange Festival.

Last year’s Orange Festival was a huge success, but this year the Festival is bringing some new twists.

Orange Fest After Dark
The Orange party will continue into the night with specific new “night time” features, including craft beer and wine, live music (The Shakes Society), sunset viewing at The Marina, local food vendors, beer pong tournament, and more.

Live Music All Day Long
This year’s day and early evening music includes the classic acoustic stylings of Jack & Josie, the jukebox pop of the Time Bandits, and the western swing of Six Volt Rodeo.

Mojo Cookoff
Eagerly awaited each year, the Mojo Cookoff pits culinary colleagues against each other in battle to earn visitors votes for best dish. Defending the title is The Living Room. This year’s contestants include The Living Room, Flanagan’s Irish Pub, Marguerites Cafe, Happy’s Bayou Bites, Pensare, and Sea Sea Riders.

Of course the Festival will be full of the old favorites as well, like the crowning of a new Orange Queen, lots of orange juice samples, Kids Fun Zone, and so much more.

The Orange Festival takes place at Dunedin’s Edgewater Park and benefits the Dunedin Historical Society. If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Beso Del Sol Resort, be sure to stop by.
