The Fantastic Frenchy’s

Synonymous with fun, casual dining and great seafood, the Frenchy’s network is a collection of eateries that has, until recently, been native to Clearwater Beach. However, in 2013, Frenchy’s opened its northernmost location near Honeymoon Island in Dunedin.

So next time you’re staying at Beso Del Sol Resort, be sure to check out Frenchy’s Outpost, the newest addition to the Frenchy’s family. The open-air Key West style restaurant is near Honeymoon Island’s causeway and has lots of outdoor dining, a tiki bar and a stage for live music daily.

Quebec native and Frenchy’s founder Michael Preston had a vision to create friendly, laid back places where people could chill with a cold drink and fresh seafood. Today, the Frenchy’s  empire includes:

One of Frenchy’s claims to fame is grouper. Of all the abundant fresh catches off the Gulf of Mexico, grouper is a hometown favorite.

The Frenchy’s Seafood Company is the sole supplier of fresh grouper to all of Frenchy’s locations, and the quality has certainly garnered national attention.

In 2014, Forbes included Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill in its 15 Most Memorable Meals list, and USA Today is a fan too, having recently named Frenchy’s “Best Grouper”. Alton Brown even mentioned them as one of his favorite “AB Road Eats”.

No worries, Frenchy’s Outpost in Dunedin has the same great grouper on the menu, including grouper nuggets and every kind of grouper sandwich you can imagine, like the Greuben (a Reuben, Frenchy’s grouper style).

In addition to Frenchy’s Seafood Company, Frenchy’s Stone Crab Company, comprised of local crabbers, ensures fresh (never frozen) stone crab claws are delivered to all Frenchy’s locations. And if you can’t make it to the restaurant, you can order these succulent treats directly online for overnight shipping to your front door.

The locals will tell you it’s a crime to miss out on Frenchy’s when you’re in the area, so during your next Beso Del Sol Resort stay, be sure to experience this local legend.
