Farmer’s Market Offers Fresh Alternatives

Just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean your digestive tract can’t enjoy some healthy treats.

Remember, when you’re staying in a Beso Del Sol Resort suite, you can cook simple meals in your room, and the Tampa Bay area open-air fresh markets are delectable places to find a fresh meal and so much more.

All of the Tampa markets are located in outdoor, pedestrian-friendly locations. Peruse more than 50 vendors selling only fresh, local, homemade, handcrafted and eco-friendly products.

The Dunedin Downtown Market is open November to June, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Located in Pioneer Park at the corner of Main Street and Douglas Avenue, the market has become a popular place for locals and visitors, where shoppers can pick up fresh produce and a wide choice of gourmet items.

Looking for fun food items? Here are a few highlights:

20 Shekels Bread
These guys love bread. Their nutritious breads promise to please the palate, especially their signature Ezekiel Bread.

The Frivolous Fruit Products
Artisan jams, pickles, and chutney, each named after old recipes designed by family and friends, are a great treat for yourself or make neat gifts.

Musahi the Bee
Home of the “best bee pollen”, Musahi offers raw, pure honey fresh from Clearwater, Florida.

Island Breeze Soups
Healthy offerings that are gluten-free, soy-free and paleo-friendly are plentiful in the form of Island Breeze soups, salads and Asian fare.

There’s a lot more than food at the market, too. Find artisan soaps, live herbs, wood crafts, ocean treasures, pottery, import gifts, spa products and so much more.

While you walk around, you may catch some live entertainment in the form of independent short movie showings, gourmet food truck appearances, featured local micro brews and live music.

They’ve even got your four-legged friends covered with shops like Doggie Cakes (doggie-tested, doggie- approved treats) and Talk to the Paw pet supplies and treats.

Next time you’re at Beso Del Sol during market season, be sure to stop by and enjoy!
